Vinifera submits a formal offer to Mendocino Community College board to buy 107 acre Talmage site with seven buildings for 1.5 million. Total project cost, including development, reaches about 6.44 million while Redwood Valley rivals price at 13.6 million.
The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors unanimously rejected Senate Bill 234 which would mandate detention of 16 and 17 year olds in county jail for serious crimes. JJDPC chair Sybil Hinkle and Chief Probation Officer Tom Martin argued the bill oversteps juvenile justice norms, noting few local juveniles would be affected and urging alignment with existing juvenile court reforms.
A meeting of logging industry stakeholders is set for 7 30 tonight at Carl Purdy hall Ukiah Fairgrounds to discuss harvesting limits. Dave Snodderly will preside with John Callaghan as main speaker outlining logging history environmental impact reports and northern California industry challenges.
