Seniors Bow Out at Home Ukiah Closes

Ukiah High School seniors close their home basketball careers with a varsity clash against Fort Bragg Timberwolves following a 7 30 p m B opener. Led by Eddie Graziano Wayne Norman and Bob Britton the Ukiah squad seeks a win as Fort Bragg enters unbeaten and supported by Dennis Dunsing Jim Larson and Gary Dunsing. The B team also meets Fort Bragg B with Dennis Dunsing leading the visitors.

Carol Heiss Wins Fourth World Figure Skating Title

Colorado Springs reports Carol Heiss, 19, captured her fourth consecutive world women's title with an elegant free program to Tschaikovsky, despite strong challenges from Hanna Walter of Austria and Sjoukje Dijkstra of the Netherlands. Sports and Boat Show Opens 10 Day SF Run

The San Francisco National Sports and Boat Show opened a 10 day run at the Cow Palace with ceremonies aboard a 48-foot Stephens cruiser. Over 40 watercraft models and latest gear for fishing camping hunting and skiing are on display. Show hours are 2 PM to 11 PM daily and about 250000 people are expected.

Cousy rises to No 2 in NBA scoring chase

Bob Cousy moved into second on the NBA all time scoring list with 11 778 points after passing George Mikan as the Celtics beat the Warriors 125 109 in Syracuse. Dolph Schayes remains the leader at 13 944 after Syracuse Nationals defeated St Louis Hawks 160 111 as Schayes scored 11 points in his 12th pro season.
