N F O Names Officers for Mendocino County Chapter
About 60 farmers and ranchers gathered at Willits Odd Fellows hall to charter and elect officers for the National Farmers Organization in the area. Warren Stauffer from Sioux Falls spoke on the NFO’s progress since 1955 and Capper Volstead Act guidance. Jim Whittaker was named president, with Laytonville residents Floyd Johnson and Lurline Whittaker elected to vice president and secretary. Trustees include Phillip Colli, Art Korpela, Elmer Bauer, and others. A meat committee was named, and arrests were reported in Ukiah for Louis Fulwider on a weapon assault warrant, bail set at 1250 dollars.

Lakeport man in custody on warrants and charges
Ronald Maurice Anderson, 20, of Lakeport, was arrested at the Lake County jail on a bench warrant from Superior Court for failure to appear and possession of liquor by a minor in a vehicle. He is held without bail. The report also notes a missing Holstein calf valued at 55 dollars from Potter Valley and a separate driving with a suspended license case leading to a ten day sentence for Val Wyn Massey, 20, Ukiah. Brent Quinn Berry, 26, Santa Rosa, was arrested at the courthouse for failure to appear and jailed on a 1250 dollar bail.

Since 1946 the Ukiah Community Concert Association has built a popular tradition of world class music. Membership funds fund concerts and local expenses, with four annual events and reciprocity with nearby cities. Campaign runs through Saturday with adult memberships at 8 and student 4, plus planned 1970 1971 season highlights including the Obernkirchen Children’s Choir and Dorothy Warenskjold’s Musical Theatre.

Highway Patrol investigates a 12 45 p m minor injury crash at S State Street and Laws Avenue in Ukiah. Mrs Charles Wikoff wife of Dr Charles Wikoff Ukiah dentist sustained minor injuries and was treated at Hillside Hospital. John Bivans 85 Boonville northbound tried to left turn into Dr Wikoff’s car.
