Pomolita 7th Grade Honor Roll and Principal List

Pomolita junior high releases the 7th Grade honor roll for the second report card period with 49 names and 19 on the principal's list. The lists include students such as Curt Adams and Elizabeth Barnes, with many more placed on both lists. Willits Nazarene church hosts artist professor series

A Willits Church of the Nazarene series continues tonight Friday and Saturday with Prof. A J Finkbeiner formerly of Nampa Idaho presenting Bible messages and painting full color scenes from travels. The event includes color slides and a painting of Rhine Falls Schaffhausen Switzerland and is free to attendees. Services Sunday are at 11 am and 7 pm with night services at 7 30 pm. Open to the public. Also arrested Wednesday Bruce William Hall 36 Potter Valley on a Ukiah Justice Court warrant for disturbing the peace and booked into county jail.

Mass divorce hearing clears backlog in Bay area

In San Francisco a mass superior court session granted divorces at about one every three minutes. The hearings, before Judge Walter Calcagno, followed a new state rule allowing a simple irreconcilable differences statement. Some cases lasted 20 seconds and the calendar finished by 3 pm. Sandor Cox of Legal Assistance Foundation said the move helps the poor served by the foundation.

Ila Summerville Dies After Long Illness At Driftwood Convalescent

Ila Summerville died Wednesday at Driftwood Convalescent Hospital after a long illness. Born in 1885 in Missouri, she was a longtime educator, mayoral aide, poet, and journalist who corresponded with President Truman and Henry Luce. Survived by daughters Jeanne Lewis and Marie Seidel and several grandchildren, services set for Saturday at Eversole Mortuary.
