Ukiah to host two Little League playoffs this summer
Ukiah will host an expanded local area Little League tournament this summer with teams from Ukiah North and South Willits Covelo Lakeport Konocti. The area winner will face Sonoma Santa Rosa area champs and advance to district play, then possible regional or sectional play. Night games planned at Lions Club park starting around 6 p.m pending HQ approval for lights.

Noted Harness Racing Figure Succumbs at 50
Delaware Ohio veteran organizer Joseph A. Neville died at 50 after a heart attack. Neville helped found the Little Brown Jug, a postwar pacing classic, part of harness racing’s Triple Crown with the Messenger Stakes and the Cane Futurity. Hank Thomson, a Delaware publisher, aided the Jug’s creation.
