In Fort Bragg a juror collapsed from a heart attack after over four hours of deliberation, ending the trial of People v. Davino Menucci for selling liquor to a minor. the jury was discharged and retrial planned.

Five to Compete In Oratory Here Wednesday
Five Ukiah Union High students will contest at 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Building in the 19th oratorical contest sponsored by the American Legion. The winner advances to the District One event at Fortuna on February 27 and then to area and state contests leading to national competition. Kelvin Kennedy won last year and placed fourth in the area. Prizes are 15, 10, and 5 dollars. Norman Williamson chairs the local event for Lewis White-Post.
