John Emil Eichendorf, 56, of Kelseyville Lake County, died after drinking weed killer mistaken for wine. His wife Edith, a Sacramento teacher, had prepared the bottle for use on their Sacramento lawn. Eichendorf was rushed to the hospital and died two hours later. The couple had lived at a Kelseyville fruit ranch on Merritt Road for a year.

Former Chamber Secretary Dies In Idaho
Phillip A. Kington, former Ukiah chamber of commerce secretary manager, died January 29 in Kalispell Idaho hospital. He served 11 years as Kalispell Chamber of Commerce secretary manager and was involved with the Highway 2 Association. A native of England, he lived in Ukiah before moving to Twin Falls Idaho then Kalispell. He had been ill since June 1954 and resigned from the highway association then. He is survived by his wife Helen Munro Kington and two sisters.

Two Drowned When Car Plunges Into Water Sunday
Two Korean War veterans died from injuries and shock after their car overturned in four feet of water on Highway 53 north of Middletown Lake county early yesterday. Charles Solvin 23 and Salvador Yee 22, both Middletown residents, were in the car with Roland Powell 18 of Richmond who escaped and is hospitalized. Powell, found unconscious atop the convertible, is expected to recover. Solvin had been in Lake county most of his life and Yee was born in Middletown. Solvin worked for Modern Tree Trimmers of Santa Rosa as a tree pruner.
