Ukiah Pine Triumphs In Overtime Thriller

Ukiah Pine edged W. A. Realty 60 58 in overtime after Nelson Redding hit a 60 foot tying shot. Redding then scored the deciding basket as Ukiah Pine toppled the league leaders in a tense second round tilt. Finsterwald Wins Tucson Open Playoff by Four Strokes

Don Finsterwald captured the Tucson Open playoff with a four stroke margin over Don Whitt of Alameda California. Finsterwald fired a five under par 65, birdied holes 1 10 18 and moved ahead early. Whitt struggled first nine then birdied 13 15 18 finishing one under par 69. Finsterwald earns $2000 and rises in season money standings behind Ford Hebert and Casper.
