Willits City Council Sifts Insurance Bids And Projects
Willits Mayor Ottis Smith called a special meeting to seek bids from insurers after Hartford canceled the city policy. The council approved a land fill east of the rodeo grounds to serve as a ball park and parking area, and heard a vandalism report on the Veterans Hall. Police and civic efforts to curb vandalism were discussed. The council moved 2500 dollars to aviation capital funds for a new hangar and fuel pumps, with federal matching funds. Police officer Cecil Caldwell will attend a seven week police science program at College of the Redwoods. Other actions included authorizing the purchase of a new car from the county and a new bicycle program.

Potter youth McCoy arrested on probation violation warrant
