Seventeen Boy Scouts and Explorers, ages 13 to 16, spent Tuesday shadowing county and city offices in a Government Day program coordinated by Sam Ray Jr. and City Manager Jim Wayne. They met officials from supervisor to district attorney, then lunched with the Ukiah Rotary Club. Fifty seven Eagle Scouts from two counties are to be honored Thursday in Santa Rosa at the Eagle Scout dinner ahead of National Scout Week February 9 to 16.

Round Valley meet to probe law enforcement views
A Covelo town hall style meeting is set for Monday February 11 at 8 p.m. in the Covelo fire department hall to hear Round Valley residents discuss desired law enforcement.
