Prison sentence for Mrs Hoaglen in manslaughter case
Mrs Hogalen was sentenced to state prison for voluntary manslaughter after a jury convicted her of stabbing her 31 year old cousin Lloyd Hoaglen during a September altercation at the Hoaglen home. The judge denied probation, with a range from six months to 15 years. The victim died from a single abdominal stab wound.

Tom Thurman 28 a Mendocino County investment counselor and instructor has announced his candidacy for treasurer tax collector in the June 4 primary. He is Ukiah branch office office manager for Roberts Scott and Company and teaches accounting economics and finance at Mendocino College adult education program. Ukiah Board to Hear Plans on Fraud Workshop and Projects

Shore seeks reelection as county auditor in June primary
R. K. Bob Shore announces plans to seek reelection as county auditor in the June 4 primary. A World War II veteran with four years service including time in the South Pacific, he has long resided in Ukiah and Potter Valley. He previously ran his own public accounting office from 1947 to 1966 and completed UC Berkeley accounting and data processing courses. Shore says he will continue to run the auditor’s office efficiently and align accounting with state standards.
