California Bears Capture Top UPI Rating Of Major Colleges

California Golden Bears, defending NCAA champions, climbed to first in UPI major college ratings with 19 first place votes and 330 points. Cincinnati dropped to second with 13 first place votes and 322 points as Ohio State rose to fourth amid a five-team shuffle. Georgia Tech, Villanova, Utah, Texas A&M and Utah State round out the top 10. North Carolina heads the second 10 with Dayton rising to 12th and Southern California 13th.
