Geologist rejects San Francisco quake prediction
State Geologist Wesley G Bruer dismissed a former mathematics professor Reuben Greenspan s forecast of a disastrous January 4 quake in San Francisco. He said the prediction relies on Sun Moon and Jupiter alignments with no proven statistical link to earthquakes and that exact forecasts remain impossible. He noted Californians should prepare urgently for future large quakes despite uncertain timing.
