Charles B Bradford 82 died in a Ukiah hospital Wednesday. World War I veteran retired psychiatric technician at Mendocino Hospital for 20 years. Survived by widow Josephine Bradford daughter Virginia Bradford sister Grace Williams. Services Saturday 10 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary burial Ukiah Cemetery conducted by Rev Travis Hyatt. John B. Ashford of Ukiah 44 a leading bowler and WWII veteran dies after a lingering illness at home. Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zimmerman Mortuary. Survived by widow Joy and three children, mother, siblings. Donations may go to American Cancer Society. The second item reports a London UPI study attributing about 70 percent of Britain’s fallout from a 1968 Chinese hydrogen bomb test.

Third arrest in LSD investigation in Ukiah area

Ukiah narcotics investigator Leon Miller arrested a third youth on charges of furnishing LSD for sale in a continuing investigation that has now resulted in four arrests. Two 16 year olds were hospitalized after violent reactions, and authorities list about 30 known users who bought from the youths.

Vegas mother to Paris seeks names of missing in action

Diana O Grady, a Las Vegas mother of seven, plans a trip to Paris with the children to press North Vietnam for a complete accounting of Americans missing in action. She wants every name identified and hopes for broad U S support and demonstrations. Her husband, Air Force Maj. John O Grady, has been missing since a 31st mission over North Vietnam.

Hashish Arrest Reported in Philo

Sheriff's deputies arrested 21 year old Jeremy Michael Stodolsky of Mendocino in Philo yesterday on possession of hashish. Officials say two small usable pieces of hashish and a smoking apparatus were found. He was taken to county jail and awaits arraignment.

Funeral services held for Robert H Rout in City

Funeral services were conducted today at Zimmerman Mortuary for Robert H Rout who died here at 71 of apparent natural causes. A native of Anderson Indiana Rout was a World War I veteran. He is survived by two brothers Hugh Rout of Sout Walter Rout of Cov Gaté. Rev Travis Hyatt led the service and burial followed at Ukiah Cemetery.

44-cent ticket nets $631,200

London reports John Howell a $60-a-week steelworker won 631200 from a 44-cent football pool bet. He says his steel works days are over. The record remains 812054 by Percy Harrison three years earlier.
