Clausen Announces Redwood Valley Water Project Funding

Congressman Don Clausen told the Daily Journal that Congress has authorized a major water project for Redwood Valley and provided 2.7 million dollars for the distribution system. He said a contract between the Redwood Valley County Water District and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is expected to be signed soon.

Judge accepts Sara Moore guilty plea in Ford shooting case

Federal Judge Samuel Conti accepted Sara Janet Moore's plea of guilty to charges of attempting to assassinate President Ford. County supervisors meet with a potpourri of items

The county board meets at 10 a.m. in the courthouse to review miscellaneous matters including the agricultural preserve non renewal committee report EMS governing board meeting outcomes and tax protest letters. At 2 30 p m a resolution to declare Brooktrails resort improvement district a community services district is on the agenda followed by a geothermal slope stabilization zone resolution at 3 p m and an introduction of an ordinance clarifying the powers of the community development commission. The legislative committee also proposes a possible reorganization of the county’s justice court system.

Hearing on psychiatric exams for Moonies' sel f-hearing case

Superior Court will hear Friday a motion to appoint an independent psychiatrist to examine two Moonie girls from Rev Sun Myung Moon s Ideal City Ranch in Boonville under temporary conservatorships filed by their mother Elizabeth Coleman Albertson The court last week declined to dissolve the conservatorships and the girls are undergoing deprogramming in the Bay Area Authorities note the case involves alleged hypnosis mesmerism and brainwashing and the ranch has tightened security with gates kept closed and armed guards reported but not confirmed
