Raiders Chiefs clash to decide AFC West title in Oakland

Oakland and Kansas City meet at Municipal Stadium in the 13th game of the season with potential AFC Playoff berth at stake. Ukiah Wrestlers Open Home Season With Double Win Over Clear Lake

Ukiah varsity and jayvee wrestlers opened their home season in Chessall Gymnasium with a 37-21 win over Clear Lake of Lakeport. Varsity coach Jerry Aikman directed a day showing at Santa Rosa Invitational, posting four pins, two losses by pins, three by decision, and four by decision, including a 13-2 win for John Feliz 165 and a 6-point pin era that boosted team score. Notable bouts included Burton 138 Cox 145 Farnsworth 154 Burke pins, Spagnola 95 winning 5-2, Masini 112 7-2, Fox 191 9-7, and Beaman 103, Myatt 175 dropping decisions. Bedsaul 127 and Jurado 133 also fell. Jayvees face Fort Bragg while awaiting results from the Novice tourney.

In opening games of the Anderson Valley Invitational Basketball tournament South Fork beat California School for the Deaf 65-47 as Gary Waggoner scored 25 and Bill Reagan led with 14. Anderson Valley edged Geyserville 66-63 with 25 from Waggoner and 15 from Chris Rossi. St Vincent's routed Mendocino 71-58 with 23 from Bob Vyenido and 14 from Don Tocchini as Tony McBroom exploded for 28. The round robin continues today and tonight with more top performers noted.
