California lawmakers plan emergency alert bill after fires
North Bay legislators will introduce a bill to set statewide emergency alert protocols in response to firestorms across Sonoma Napa Lake and Mendocino counties. The fires destroyed over 6000 homes and 170000 acres, caused billions in damage and killed 44 residents while some people remain missing. Many residents learned of evacuations only via door to door notices during the peak period.

A roof inspection led to discovery, sparking evacuation, bomb squad response, and later detonation with no injuries. Dewis said the device appeared old and unlikely aimed at his business.
