Supervisors grant dump burning extension

A one year extension for open burning in county dumps was approved by the board after a letter from the Air Resources Board. The extension conflicts with county regulations and a public hearing to amend those rules is set for December 21 at 2 30 p m. Officials noted amendments must be approved before January 1 for the extension to take effect. Assistant District Attorney Stoen reported no variances for land clearing burning would be allowed after December.
