Raymond Edwin Abel 61 of Trinity Center California died December 3 in Red Ding. Funeral rites Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary with Rev. A J Carter officiating. Burial in Ukiah Cemetery. Born April 10 1908 in Dayton Washington he was a mechanic at Altoona Mines and had lived in the area 23 years. Pallbearers named Willard Williams Kenneth O Conner Calvin Duncan Jack Scott Harry Arnold Rusty Anderson. Survived by wife LaVern Abel daughter Evelyn Arnold mother Ruth Abel sisters Nellie Campbell June Graham brother Robert Howard Abel and two grandchildren.

Ukiah Driver Cited After Pedestrian Collision
William Joseph Hrback 70 Potter Valley cited for failure to yield to pedestrians after his car struck two Ukiah residents Eldon Haley 25 and Joyce Wall 18 at Perkins and State Streets. Both pedestrians sustained minor bruises and were treated and released from Mendocino County Hospital. Hrback said sun glare prevented him from seeing them.

Minor accident leads to drunk driving charge in Ukiah
James Edward Gardiner, 40, of Leggett, was arrested at a minor accident in the 100 block of N State Street and charged by Ukiah police with drunk driving. His vehicle collided with Gil Fiedler, 59, of Ukiah, who was not injured. Gardiner was booked and to be arraigned in Ukiah Justice Court. The incidents were among several fender benders Wednesday afternoon.
