Rainfall forecast boosts drought relief across U S West

Unemployment 6.9 percent in November amid steady job market

UPI reports the November jobless rate at 6.9 percent marking the eighth straight month of little change in the U S labor market. A White House aide says 6.6 percent target for 1977 is no longer attainable and has been scrapped while unemployment remains in a narrow 6.9 to 7.1 percent range since April. Thygesens Convicted in Ukiah Land Scheme

Dennis and Patricia Thygesen of Ukiah were found guilty on eleven counts of misusing funds and accepting payments for unsubdivided land sold on unrecorded contracts from 16 buyers. Jurors deliberated just over two hours. taxes unpaid totaling about $4,000. Sentencing set for January 6 with possible fines and prison terms. Additional state investigations anticipated.
