North Stuns South in Redwood Empire Classic clash

In Arcata the North AR-Stars of 1964 beat the South 19 to 13 after a close final period. Pedrini shifted to quarterback late, broke loose for key runs and a second TD, while Beale and Burman paced the North offense as the South defense, led by Smith and Nunnemaker, fought to contain the visitors. Pedrini’s late spark finally decided the outcome.

Ukiah youth Daryl McClendon shot a near record 63 on the Ukiah Municipal Golf Course in a Saturday practice round with Gary Shimmin, Paul Shimmin, and Don Bones Jr. He posted a 29 on the back nine with six birdies after an opening 34, while Bones and others carded 70, 72, and 73.

Golf Winners Named At Blind Partner's Play

Captain Dede Finn awarded winners Barbara Stipp and Vivi Bones with runners up Doris Gilmer and Dolores Johnson for 18 holes. Nine hole leaders were Berylene Underwood and Jean Palmer.
