In a Santa Clara County case, seven prospective jurors were dismissed for fixed opinions on capital punishment. Prosecutor Broaddus and defense attorneys Poulos and Orchard sparred over cross section aims, while Judge Kelly ruled state law forbids excluding for such views. Twelve jurors were tentatively seated including Antone Vyse and Nina Zatokovich among others.
