State Street mishap injures three persons
Three people were injured in a four car chain reaction on S State Street and Seminary Avenue. Lynne Ellen Myers age 17, was southbound and struck the rear of a car stopped for a left turn. Injured were Karen Myers 16 Ruby Hall 39 and Gary Jacobs 22, all involved in the collision.

Wilhelmine Christensen aged 63 died Saturday from cancer at a local hospital. She will be buried in Ukiah Catholic Cemetery with Fr. Tom Gowing. She is survived by two brothers Raymond Crowley of San Francisco and Eugen Crowley of Louisiana and a sister Mrs. Helen Fashauer of Ukiah. Meteors strike the earth's atmosphere year round with nearly a million meteorzoids entering daily, most smaller than a grain of sand, totaling about 10 tons in weight.

Orville H. Brandon of Nice was arrested after a shooting at the Stephens residence wounding Ellen Stephens in the arm with a .22 rifle. Brandon was booked on an assault with a deadly weapon charge and the victim received treatment at Lakeside Hospital and released.

An eight year old Modesto girl named Cindy Whittington escaped with minor injuries after being struck by a car driven by 18 year old Gary A. Johnson in the 700 block of S State Street as she jaywalked. She was taken to Ukiah General Hospital for treatment.
