Crippled children veto stands in California Senate
The California Senate failed by one vote to override Governor Reagan's veto of extra state support for crippled children rehabilitation. The 26 to 14 defeat preserves the governor's cut of 500000 dollars, which officials say will not cut services but will raise parent contributions. Senator Teale criticized the move as giving the governor power to tax with no legislative approval. Socrates sentence and date noted in the same source.
