Fire in Napa Valley brush contained after weekend battle
A 2 400 acre brush and timber fire east of St Helena was sparked by a car repair explosion. Fire officials said the blaze was 100 percent contained early today after 600 firefighters fought it since the weekend. Control expected by about 6 p m unless winds cause danger.

Two Men Drown near Le Trianon Resort at Blue Lakes
Lake County deputies report two separate drownings at Blue Lakes near the Le Trianon resort. Michael G.
