New York UPI reports John N. Mitchell and Maurice H. Stans were acquitted on nine of eighteen counts including conspiracy and lying to a grand jury. If convicted on all counts they could face up to five years per count, with fines possibly totaling 80 000 each. Mitchell faces separate Watergate related charges next September.
