The Ukiah Jaycees and Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce announce a May 21 entry deadline for the 1976 Bicentennial Festival Parade to be held June 5 alongside a three day celebration including a carnival family fun day and band concert. Floats compete in categories from commercial to novelty with trophies for first place. no political entries accepted. Up to 30 bands are expected in the parade’s band review. Manpower programs and public defender on board agenda
The Mendocino County board of supervisors will tackle manpower programs and public defender services as major items at tomorrow’s 10 a.m. meeting at the courthouse. Fort Bragg man found after all night search
The body of 25yearold Jess Orin Danner was found early Saturday in Jackson State Forest after an allnight search. Danner disappeared Friday afternoon while working on a skid road with Gordon McGuire. Authorities say a dirt bank collapsed and Danner, who had a head bump, was located partially buried face down. He is survived by his father Fred Danner of Fort Bragg.
