Toledo bowler hits first 700 in ABC team event
TOLEDO Ohio UPI Joe Ranelli a 35 year old Columbus man rolled a 700 series in open team play at the American Bowling Congress tournament in Toledo. He started with 215 232 253 and finished with six strikes then eight pins on the final ball for a 700. The previous high in team events was 697 by Fritz Cieslik of Cleveland.

Ukiah Track Teams Triumph In Triangular Meet
Ukiah Varsity B and C squads swept a triangular meet with Willits and Anderson Valley. Varsity won 102 2/3 to 74 1/3 for Willits and 59 for Anderson Valley, despite illness. B team led 103 to 73 1/2 over Willits and 49 for AV. C team dominated 64 to 12 for AV. Felix Riggs set pace in the 440, clocking 53.9 seconds, possibly a school record. Willits’ Gordon Baechtel ran a sprint double with Jim Cooper. Parmentier of AV excelled in hurdles and broad jump. Ukiah will send a dozen+ to the Davis meet Saturday.
