Eager speculators, many of modest means, rushed Nuevo Laredo banks to buy pesos at 12 1/2 to the dollar as traders bet the peso would rise after the government cut its official value. Mexican banks bought dollars at 12.49 pesos and sold at 12.51, with travel bargains in pesos for those paying in dollars. Gasoline and rail fares in pesos offered cheaper travel options. Two Headed Baby Dies After Four Months Of Life
In Petersburg Indiana the two headed infant Daniel Kaye and Donald Ray Hartley died from a respiratory infection at Davies County Hospital after four months of life. Born as a medical rarity from a single fertilized egg the child family and doctors had hoped would survive longer. Funeral services are planned for tomorrow.

Late flashs injure two as Reed family hurt on Highway 20
Two people were critically injured in an automobile-trick accident on the old Hopland road late afternoon. Five members of the Ray Reed family of Pine Bluff Arkansas received minor injuries on Highway 20 eight miles from the Redwood Highway. The Reeds were later released from Ukiah General Hospital. Mrs John O Frankfurter and Mrs Michael Moran, injured in the Hopland accident, remain in hospital with serious injuries.

Reds Demand Return of Soviet Spy Chief Petrov

Inquest Planned Friday Over Mendocino State Hospital Death
Coroner B G Broaddus will conduct an inquest Friday morning at Mendocino State Hospital into the death of 76 year old Charles F Hart who died April 8 after an alleged battle with fellow patient George Fox. Max Franks cites arteriosclerosis as the cause per autopsy the following day. Hart was committed from Tehama county on July 24 1953.
