International search for Rembrandt stolen from Boston museum

Customs officials launched an international hunt for a half million dollar Rembrandt painting taken at gunpoint from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Two robbers slugged a guard, fled in a gold car amid mid day traffic, and the 23 by 16 inch portrait titled Elizabeth Van Rijn was valued well over a half million dollars.

Mendocino College Trustees Set Special Meet on Site-Finder Panel

Mendocino College trustees will hold a 4 30 p m special meeting at the Fairgrounds interim campus to form a 15 member citizen site finding advisory committee. Ford open to contingency fund plan for Vietnam evacuees

Secretary Kissinger told the Senate Appropriations Committee the President would back a congressional plan to create a contingency fund to aid in evacuating Americans from South Vietnam. The plan, proposed after a White House meeting, could reach up to 722 million dollars, with possible reductions. Ford seeks 722 million in military aid plus 250 million in humanitarian aid and broader authority to use troops for evacuations.
