Ukiah expands rec program with boost to 1974 75 budget

Ukiah Unified approves expanded city district recreation and sports plan for 1974 75 as Ukiah Recreation Director Dave Strong outlines activities across schools. The board sets a total district city share of 15075 50 and notes surplus funds from 73 74 and 74 75 go to next year. More fifth and sixth grade teams to be formed with flag football volleyball basketball softball track and jamborees at multiple schools including Frank Zeek Nokomis Oak Manor Hopland Potter Valley Redwood Valley River and others. Noontime intramurals to continue as facilities permit.

Golda Meir says she will resign as Israeli prime minister

Prime Minister Golda Meir told Labor party leaders she will resign Thursday amid a crisis over Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Israel's October War unpreparedness. The cabinet crisis deepened after a justice opinion questioned Dayan's resignation obligation as Gen. Elazar also stepped down. Meir, 75, said she could not stay in office, stressing the issue was personal.

County roads storm damage hits four million dollars

New damage from heavy rains adds about 4 million to county road repairs beyond January losses.
