Roads Reopened After Slides With Some Closures Still In Place

Highway and county roads have reopened after cleanup from slides and slip outs. Several routes remain closed or restricted including Highway 1 north of Fort Bragg, Bell Springs Road, Low Gap Road west of Ukiah, Eastside Calpella Road, Laytonville-Dos Rios Road, Old Toll Road near Hopland, and Hopland Yorkville Road. Light local traffic allowed on Mountain View Road, Ukiah Comptche Road, and Philo Greenwood Ridge Road. TelePrompTer TV reports half the station’s channels lost at 9:30 am due to a power outage, with an emergency generator en route and full service expected by 1 pm.

Welfare department faces overcrowding in Ukiah

Mendocino County supervisors push feasibility study for a new welfare building to ease crowding. Pan Am seeks $194 million mail subsidy in plea for help

Pan American World Airways urged the Civil Aeronautics Board to approve a $194 million mail subsidy for the next 12 months, citing a $204 million rise in 1974 fuel costs and an expected $85.4 million operating loss without aid.
