A compact jack box designed by Maj. Herbert H. Frost allows from one to four headphone or loud speaker sets to be used simultaneously. Four closed circuit jacks connect in series inside a small box. inserting a plug opens the circuit and diverts current to the headphones, while withdrawing restores the prior path. This aids tuning while keeping the loud speaker active for others in the room.
