Storm Sewer and Grading Up For Council Action
The city council adjourned last evening after passing three ordinances creating improvement districts on Bluff Lakes from Kimberly road to Ninth Avenue East, on Third Avenue North from Becord Street to Addison Avenue, and on Fifth Avenue North from Second Street to Addison Avenue. They discussed an adestate system for storm sewer, gave second readings to gasoline tank ordinances, and considered a storm sewer plan with two options. One proposes a tunnel into Rock Creek, the other directs surplus water under the lateral wind to the dry canal near the old Idaho power station payout Monroe Street. City Engineer Bore and Commissioner Koel plan further talks with the canal board to pursue a tunnel costing about 40,000 dollars to handle city sewerage and seepage.
