The Twin Falls ward Mutual Improvement association held its annual Mother-Daughter Day at the city park Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Ferrin, 6, noted as the oldest mother, received a token of esteem from Montellia Lawwols, while Mrs Jane Gardner, oldest TI. A. member, was honored by Virginia Kirkman. Tributes went to Minnie Hall as youngest mother and Fontella Renglois as oldest unmarried daughter, among others. A one act play Just Mothers and a skit Melodrama entertained, with readings, singing, games, and a basket lunch concluding the program.
Kathleen Martin of Caldwell and Clement Walt Griffith of Twin Falls wed at the First Baptist church in Caldwell with Rev. Stanley A. Gilet presiding. Music by Margaret Gippon and Alex during the ceremony. The bride wore beige chiffon and lace with crystals and carried Ophelia roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Martin is secretary to Walter at the government entomological laboratory in Twin Falls. Griffith, son of S G Griffith of Thinedin New Zealand, has ties to the government automobile laboratory here. They left for a honeymoon in the Sawtooth mountains and will reside in Madison Wisconsin where Griffith will pursue graduate work at the University of Wisconsin.
Mrs. H. W. Sawyer of Wallon Nevada guest at her parents home attended a prettily appointed mid-summer luncheon Tuesday afternoon at Mrs. Dickey's Party House. Mes HS Warkwiee inspired the choral themed centerpieces for five luncheon tables while place cards bore the motif. Bridge followed with Mrs. Wilbur S. Hill winning high score and Miss Lizzie Smith taking low. Mrs. Sawyer received a charity guest prize. Denver guest Mrs. Fowler, niece of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Breckenridge, also attended.
Members and families of the Wayside club were guests of honor at the annual picnic hosted Tuesday evening at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Clark. A picnic supper was served at 7 o'clock. Miss Gladys Terhune, Idaho Republican committeewoman, shared highlights from the Kansas City national convention. A program of songs and readings by children followed, then social time.
The Rebekah Lodge held a regular Tuesday session in the Qda Fellows hall led by Marguerite O'Neal. Mrs. Jacobs of Montana and Mrs. Weldon of Burley attended as guests. routine business was disposed of.
Excelsior Society hosts a community carnival Thursday night August 1 at the Independ ent warehouse with Howes six piece orchestra. Peter Link offered the building for social use before machinery installation. First event in the building. Excelsior Social club meeting postponed to Friday August 6 to allow Mintin family mourners to attend Elmer Mintin funeral. Grove couple and M Grove fished Silver Creek, bringing back 28 trout. Excelsior Grange to meet Friday August 17 at Woodman Hall Hansen. Last Grange meeting noted at dawn at Adam Link home.

Miss Bertha Mackey and Miss Viola Lowell travel through Spokane Kootenay and Rocky Mountain National Park to Banff Alberta during July. They attend a Stoney Indians pow wow where Peter B Kyne is inducted as a blood brother, one of several honored guests.

BUHL Aug 8 The Buhl fire department responded Friday to a blaze at the W. R. Laird residence. The coupe parked in front of the house was completely destroyed. Numerous village residents and visitors list ongoing travels and local happenings, including births, visits, and upcoming events.
Miss Virginia Welsley and Delena Miller returned to their Rogerson home after a visit in Hagerman. Ralph Pollard and Phil Sutcliffe left for Shoshone. Mrs. C. F. Wurster and family visited friends in Buhl. Edna McMillan will spend a week in Montello Nevada with her father. Mrs. Cah Dodd and children recently made Rogerson home. Clayton Lowe of Amsterdam visited Rogerson. Bert Shobert spent weekend in Twin Falls, returning to Rogerson. Dave Baggett and Dave Harkness of Burley visited Rogerson. Marjorie Stuart called at the Skinner home. Mrs. Avas Haight returned to Rogerson.
Twin Falls high school pep band organizer and violinist Roderick Wight arrives from Chicago to visit his father W W Wight. The cornetist is part of Bank of Chicago sponsored broadcasts on WLS and plans to resume with the band and finish medical studies at Columbia School of Music this fall.
A new detour is prepared on the road from the Twin Falls Jerome bridge toward Jerome to permit main road repairs. The old squad through Barrymore will serve the detour. Main road work is progressing. rock crusher arrives next week and completion is planned. The bridge to Adams corner segment remains rough with no start yet. A new detour is in place.
