The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist church named officers for the year with Mrs. Drake as president and Mrs. de Parmier quist as secretary. The report details officers chosen and the meeting date. Also noted are obituaries and local visits including Mrs. Gail W. Griffen of Pasadena and families traveling for outtings and vacations.
Members of the Twin Balls Business and Professional Women's club, about 40, visited Mrs Florence Wright's home Monday evening for a picnic supper on the lawn near the pond and summer house. Flowers and a program of victory music accompanied the meal served by Mrs Geneva Dawneet, Mrs Alice Abt, and Miss Mabel Loper.
The Orpheum audience enjoyed a two night program featuring Altars of Desire and a later indoor segment with vocal numbers by Mrs Louise Wright and instrumental pieces by Mrs Florence Wright hosted by Mrs Imma L Warren. A summer picnic is planned in the next two weeks.
Charlotte Michigan terse report states Allis Jane Spaulding of San Francisco was blamed by two witnesses for a crash that killed Idenest D. Scott of Port Huron. No prosecution will be undertaken unless a sworn warrant is issued. Banesy announced after the hearing.
Examinations will be given Thursday Friday and Saturday this week in room 117 of the high school building with Charlotte Pond county superintendent in charge. County teachers must hold state or county certificates to teach. those lacking proper credentials may take the examination and obtain the needed certificate. Exams for teachers will be held on two days, with the late certificate exams on Saturday.
In Nebraska City a side street racing incident ended with Brick Dunn and the county sheriff in a police court case. The coroner's jury found no one at fault for the accident. Witnesses said another rider and Miss Spauldinsy were involved in the ride at the time.

It claims over five million households use it, promises quick relief from constipation or diarrhea, and emphasizes safety versus stronger medicines for babies. The copy appeals to anxious mothers and mentions druggists stocking the product.
Al Jolson stars in The Jazz Singer at the Idaho theater for a four day engagement. The production features May McAvoy Eugenie Besserer and Nat Carr in a stirring dramatic tale of a young man’s rise as a jazz singer amid family conflict and fate.
Western Auto Supply Cotes promotes two weeks of camp goods bargains. I W Washburn says camping supplies are popular this season and low Western Auto prices are reduced. The sale features guaranteed items and a customer is always right policy. The two weeks of camping bargains near end Saturday.
Ensign Thelman Lester of a naval aircraft squadron died when a naval plane crashed near San Diego yesterday and burst into flames. The cause of the accident was not learned. Lester had come here recently from Pensacola, Florida.
A July Sunday at Hansen Community church featured the Burley Methodist young folks orchestra in a diverse program including vocal solos, duets, quartets, and instrumentals. Funds from the collection support building work on Epworth League grounds in Sawtooths. Other items note hail damage to crops, a Monday picnic, and local family reports including Mrs. McFarland’s ill mother and Miss Klingaman’s return from Albion State Normal.
The Roy Durk family plans a rapid auto tour through Oregon and northern California with a stop in Pendleton to visit Mrs Durk’s sister and visits to an uncle and other relatives in California. Mrs Ralph Taylor of Bee Ore visits M B Taylor and Fay Sheesley homes, leaving Friday morning. The Mallorys, recently at the Frahm ranch, will settle in Kimberly. A fried chicken dinner by the Women’s Community Council netted about $60 with local talent, music, and recitations. Nearby, Emma Bailey and family arrived from California, while the Wisemans camp and fish in the Yankee Fork region. Several attended church at Burley, and Barbara Wise undergoes tonsil surgery at Twin Falls hospital.
Johnny Risko from Cleveland George Godfrey of Leiperville Pa and Joe Sekura of Dayton Ohio filed claims with New York state athletic commission for the heavyweight title vacated by Gene Tunnes Tommy Loughran of Philadelphia light heavyweight champion and his manager Joe Smith appeared before the commission but did not file a heavyweight claim as previously done with the National Boxing Association
Arnold and her small daughter of Los Angeles visit her brother Herbert Smith and family in Twin Falls. Theodore Scott has been ill for about two weeks but is better now. The group will meet at the church Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Warren Lowry, who visited relatives in Twin Falls and Hansen, stayed with her sister Mrs Clyde Johnson then left for San Diego. Rigney's Garage was sold last week to Emma Bailey and son Raymond with immediate possession. Mr Rigney has no immediate plans.
