Apponyi Pleads for Plebiscite on Hungary’s Boundaries
Count Albert Apponyi argues in a final AP article that the Versailles boundaries should be settled by plebiscite in each region severed from Hungary. He claims Hungary’s historic unity and warns that postwar redrawing creates ethnically mixed states, cultural decline, and economic disruption. He asserts self determination as the path to lasting European peace and urges free votes in all contested areas.
