Dunes national park idea for Lake Michigan coast grows
Ambitious Indiana Illinois Michigan coastal push seeks a 9000 to 14000 acre national park along Lake Michigan between Miller’s in Lake County and Michigan City. Director Mather urged preservation for public use, proposing $200 an acre and a $1.8 to $2.6 million purchase, amid debates on federal park policy and possible condemnation of private lands.
