The Jubilee Guild hosts a Tea and Sale in the Arm A comedy on Wednesday November 25. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is 35 cents. See Jubilee Guild projects on display. Elsie Gillett serves as secretary.
National Registration will occur in Labrador Fortune Bay Hermitage Burgeo Laporte St Barbe White Bay from November 16 to December 31 1942 and in other districts from November 2 to December 15 1942. All persons ages 16 to 63 excluding armed forces must register. Deputies conduct home registrations for residents away from their settlements. Cards must be filled and signed in the registrar's presence with secrecy upheld. Registration enables future employment and travel certificates after December 31 1942.
Multiplies the required contact points for respecting registration by directing consultees to consult their deputy registrar or magistrate police officer or ranger or to communicate with A. J. Walsh Registrar for official guidance.
Seaman Chesley N Winsor of Triton West earns promotion to the rank of Able Seaman in a naval advancement. The improvement reflects duty performance and years of service aboard the fleet. His transfer marks a milestone in his naval career and duties.
A collection drive will occur next week to raise funds for wool purchases. Ladies will visit households to solicit contributions and knit comforts for the fighting forces.
