Clyde to come east Fridays per reports.
Mr. Young representing Stand ard Brands Ltd of Canada is in town. Mr. Albert Barton arrived from England last week after being released from the Forestry Unit due to illness. Mr. James Gillett came from Botwood Friday week, home after time off from the paper steamer Esmond. Mrs Albert Moore visited from Windsor after being felled by Clyde Thursday. Mr. Squarey arrived by Clyde to visit the Bait Depot at Path End. Mrs W H Roberts and child arrived from Windsor at the same time.
Mary White aged 75 wife of the late Archibald White died at Ragged Point on Sunday night. Funeral is on Wednesday at South Side United Church with Rev T J Pitt officiating. Interment follows at Rink Road Cemetery.

The first issue of The Nad Farmer appears as a biweekly publication by the National Publishers and printed by Long Bros. at 130 Water Street St. Johns. It is addressed to Newfoundland farmers and gardeners with a nationwide price of 50 cents.
The Victoria Hall event Thursday night raised about 2400 for the Air Ambulance Fund. Sergi and Martin delivered an address before attendees joined in games and other activities.
A recent newspaper report states that the U S Esmond ran down a pilot ship off Halifax while entering to take a convoy for England on its last voyage. Nine of her eleven crew were drowned.
About 600 German ships interned in central countries since the war began are loaded with supplies for German ports. The plan is to run the Allied blockade and return roughly 65 percent of these merchant ships to safety. Allied warships patrol for evasion.
