On the second Sunday in Lent the schedule includes St Peters Holy Communion Matins and Evensong, St Andrews Holy Communion with Address and Evensong, United Church services led by Rev Burden on North Side and Layman times, Little Harbour Rev Burden, The Salvation Army Holiness Meeting Free and Halky Praise Meeting and Great Salvation Service with Mrs Rideout. All are welcome.
The Salvation Army marks its 50th anniversary in a ceremony led by Adjt. Rideout DC starting Sunday the 20th. District officers will attend to assist in the event.
Sunday schedule includes Holiness Service led by Capts Watts and Pilgrim at 11am and a Great March at 2.15pm with band and Sunday School. 3pm Witness Service presided by His Honour Magistrate Abbott with Rev J A Burden and Dr Wood. Evening Salvation Service at 7pm led by Capt and Mrs Gill. Monday features Isaac Young speaking at 8pm. Tuesday hosts a Birthday Party at 7.30pm. Wednesday 8pm lecture by Adjt Rideout on The Trail of the Salvation Army with farewells to visiting Officers.
The program features opening singing All hail the power of Jesus Name, prayers by Rev J A Burden, scripture and introduction by Adjt Rideout, D.O. speech by Rideout, songs Jesus shall reign How firm a foundation and Kipling’s Recessional, speakers Dr Woods and Mrs Rideout, and a vote of thanks followed by offering and doxology.
Captain William Pippy rests in the hospital following a surgical operation. He is reported doing well and receiving care from medical staff.
Susan Linfield widow of Frederick Linfield died peacefully Saturday at age 88. She leaves son Edward and daughter Mrs S D Cook of Corner Brook, with grandchildren and relatives both here and abroad. Funeral Monday at N S United Church conducted by Rev J A Burden. Interment at B H Cemetery.

Bert ckles faced a cutting and wound case and was remanded for further evidence. Manuel v Josiah and other civil matters proceeded with hearings. one defendant agreed to sell.
