The issue of keeping livestock safe from free roaming dogs is under review by those who have recently lost stock. Proposals include a clog law with a wooden piece marked bare, to be used as a deterrent or enforcement measure, and bequests contemplate the applicable statute.
Taxing dogs to cover livestock losses urged by magistrate
The piece argues dog owners should pay a tax sufficient to meet cattle losses when no single owner can be identified. It cites statute law and magistrate authority, urging humane yet practical protection of animals and prevention of losses from roaming dogs. The proposal aims to safeguard all by shared responsibility rather than favoritism.
