Drownings Reported On Change Islands And Fortune Harbour
A sad drowning occurred Monday at Change Islands when Guy and Goodland Brinson capsized their boat after landing salmon at Roberts and were returning to the boat. They were in the water a long time before the boat sank bottom up. The young men were six footers and efforts by Mrs. Davies could not save them. Another drowning occurred at Fortune Harbour when Alosta Lanning was thrown overboard by an anchor. A Pentecostal session was held at Bishop's Fatla thin week with Pastor W Ball attending.

Margaret Eleanor Hodder daughter of Mr and Mrs John Hodder Twillingate married George Grimes son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Grimes Herring Neck at St Andrew Church in a June ceremony officiated by Reverend J Goodland. The bridal party wore pink and white organdie as Mendelssohn Wedding March played during the signing of the register. A reception followed at the bride’s home with over fifty guests before a short boat honeymoon in Herring Neck. The couple will reside in Twillingate.
