Neville Reader of St. John's faces multiple counts of embezzlement totaling about 18 318 dollars and 4 780 dollars with related documents and goods stolen from Steers Ltd since 1949 and 1941. Bail set at 15 000 dollars. Also charged are Harvey Russell and Nettie Beet for stealing goods from Steers Ltd with bail set at 10 000 and 5 000 respectively.

Miss Florence Elliott stayed six weeks from New York visiting her parents Jonas and Mrs. Elliott. Her mother remains bedridden with arthritis. Major and Mrs. S Rideout 5.A. are in town on a visit.
