In exercise of powers under the Defence Photography Regulations 1942 and amendments I issue the following Order dated January 7 1943 signed by L E Emerson Commissioner for Justice.
This order declares places where photography is banned and extends to nearby areas within 200 yards. It requires written permits from authorized authorities to possess or operate photographic gear near prohibited sites. It cites Newfoundland Airport near Gander as a prohibited area within five miles of the railway station.
The order defines Goose Airport area as within five miles of the Aerodrome Control Tower at the Air Station Goose Bay Labrador establishing jurisdiction and bounds for aviation control.
Public notice from the Department of Trade and Commerce Ottawa outlines commodities requiring Newfoundland Certificate of Essentiality for export permit approval. Items include motor vehicles, car accessories, steel products, rubber goods, and canned goods. applications must be made to the Priorities Committee in St John’s in quadruplicate, with two copies returned if approved.
