Elizabeth Stuckleas died Friday December 6 after a long tuberculous illness at her Tickle Point home. A Change Islands native, 47, wife of Joseph Stuckleas, she leaves two sons one daughter a sister Mrs Frederick Anstey and brother Jesse Taylor. Funeral Sunday at S S United Church with burial at Arm cemetery conducted by Rev T J Pitt. Sun extends condolences.

Wartime Proficiency Pay Increased for Volunteer Recruits
Regulation ending the 6d daily wartime proficiency pay now grants two shillings sixpence daily to all soldiers on British rates of pay under the same conditions. Effective from 31 August, new volunteers will receive the higher rate from attestation. The rise does not affect Special Proficiency Pay or other later emoluments.
Newfoundland Militia Ends Enlistments Transfer Options Open
