Delegates of the Loyal Orange Association attend a Mass meeting at U S United Church in Twillingate where Rev J W Winsor preached on Orangeism values. A banquet at Crow Head follows with appeals for school funds and remarks on education and the fishery.

A destructive blaze began in the town of Little Bay Islands causing anxiety on Tuesday. Mr W A Strong, visiting Grand Lodge sessions, hurried home to help suppress the flames.
The widow of the late James Rideout died Monday morning at the Back Hill in her 90th year. The funeral was held Wednesday at the United Church. Dinam, Captain Edwards, arrived Ashbourne Ltd with 697 tons of coal from Sydney aboard SS Pas Dinam.
Miss Janet Moors daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Moors Back Ar married on July 10 at Prince Edward Island to Mr William Sausford.

Mrs Isaac Greenham and daughter Winnie arrived by Kyle from Pilleys Island to visit friends. Mrs Tulk and two children visited Morton's Hr by motor with Mr and Mrs Saidy Knight. Agnes Guy Margie Decker and Alma Pitcher came by Clyde from Fogo to see sights. Dr G C Mendzies from Montana arrived via Lewisporte aboard Mr Colbeningsinator boat. Turner and LeGrow surveyed the Shoal Tickel bridge near Lewisporte with Mr Saine and wife and son from Toronto.
A quiet wedding was held at the United Church Parsonage Twillingate at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday July 28. James Dalley son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Dalley Twillingate and Edna King daughter of the late Charles and Mrs King Campbellton were married by Rev J W Winsor. The couple received many useful gifts and the bridal party included Miss Laura Horwood maid of honor and Miss Gladys Primmer. The wedding party later celebrated at the groom’s home with a modest reception.
Mrs Grenfell writes from St. Anthony Newfoundland thanking the ladies for a beautiful centrepiece. She notes it is the nicest she has and values it for the thought and hours of work behind it. The letter mentions the Hospital Association and a request to avoid a public reading due to inconvenience.
Twillingate mourns Capt. James Anstey in his sixtieth year after long stomach and bowel illness. A C of E member and SUF brother, he died Sunday at hospital after cancer spread. Funeral at church Tuesday with Rev. Henry Gilbert. he leaves a wife, three daughters Nellie Amelia Althea, six sons in Newfoundland and the U S A, three brothers and three sisters and many grandchildren.
Dear Mr Editor allows obituary notice for Albert Wheeler who died June 4 at 76 after a fortnight of illness. Funeral led by Rev W H Dotchon on June 7 with text Amos 4 12 and John 14 2. He leaves a wife four sons seventeen grandchildren and many friends. Sleep on beloved sleep and rest. Elsie Whehelor.
