Churches list services by St. Peter St. Andrew United and others on North and South Sides. Times include Matine at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Evensong or Lay Reader and Sunday School at 2 30 p.m. Rev S Baggs leads several venues with week night services noted.
The Salvation Army presents a Sunday schedule with 2 p.m. Sunday School and Bible 3 p.m. Praise Meeting and 7 p.m. Salvation Meeting. Services conducted by the Corps Officers Major and Mrs Wheeler extend a cordial invitation to all.
The Pentecostal Assembly lists devotional at 10 30 a m Sunday school at 3 p m prayer at 6 30 p m and evangelistic service at 7 p m each Sunday.
Published by Authority under the Price of Goods Regulations 1941 the 4th day of April 1945 GEO. E. LONDON Commissioner for Supply issues a formal order setting pricing directives for goods.
Government order sets regional scope for Newfoundland including Labrador islands and fixes sugar prices. It details shelf, retail, and port of importation pricing for white granulated and brown sugar from USA and Canada, with transportation add-ons for non port sales. Violations incur Defence Regulations penalties and revokes prior order No. 58 with retained penalties. Effective midnight April 5, 1945.
A meeting of the W. P. A. will be held on Thursday April 19 at casual time and place. D. Hopper secretary.
The Wednesday evening program at Alexandra Hall drew a full house with the venue packed to capacity and Proseedi priced at 100 dollars.
Movies will be shown at 8 p m each Thursday depending on mail delivery. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the NDMB Hospital.
