Mountain lion suspected in pet death in urban Orange County
In Tustin two weeks ago a family cat Shadow died from an apparent animal attack. A surveillance photo near Stater Bros. captured a juvenile mountain lion, about 50 pounds, near the store. California Fish and Wildlife spokesman Andrew Hughan noted urban cougar sightings are unusual but possible due to nearby Whiting Ranch and open space along the 241 corridor.
