A coastal freighter Maystone struck Britain's atomic age carrier Albion in the North Sea causing a gaping hull and rapid sinking. Twenty or twenty one men are missing from Maystone's 24 crew. three were rescued. Albion towed to St Abbs Bay as three tugs battle to stabilize the damaged ship. The incident near Longstone light occurred during a gale five miles north of Farne Island off Northumberland.

Boy Of 10 Traps Killer Suspect In Panhandle Manhunt
In Dalhart Texas 10 year old John William Smith pressured the big hunt for Lenard Hawkins by saying he believed the man was their target. Hawkins 34 surrendered after officers scoured a clump of trees 20 miles from Dalhart. Hawkins is charged with murder in the Boise City shooting of Alfred Clark 23. Clark was found last Wednesday near Jerseyville Illinois. The chase drew in officers from New Mexico and Oklahoma and capped one of the Panhandle’s largest manhunts. Local and ranger officials provided details of the arrest and Hawkins claimed the shooting was accidental.
